The West Nest Lodge is perfect for families or groups wanting a relaxing place to get away. It is situated on the river with beautiful views. Located in the peaceful upper valley it is the ideal place to spend time in nature. Enjoy fishing, birdwatching, hiking, play in the game room, relax in the sauna, or just watch the river flow by. Approximately 15 minutes from Red River, NM, still close enough to enjoy the shops, restaurants, and other fun activities this mountain town has to offer.
Good to know
This cabin is 3 stories. It is around 2000 sq ft total on the main floor and second story, and has an additional partially finished basement area. The main floor has a kitchen, dining area, living area, 2 bedrooms, and the main bath. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook for a group. The dining table seats 8+, and there is additional barstool seating for 4 in the kitchen. The primary bedroom has a King bed, and the second bedroom on the main floor has two Queen beds. The main bath has both a shower and a sauna. The second floor has a loft with fold out sleeper chair, a bunk room with two Twin XL over Queen bunks, a twin bed, and a second bath with shower and tub. The basement floor has a partially finished out area with a queen bed, and the garage/game area. There are several fire pits outside, a picnic area, a deck with river views and a propane grill, and steep stairs that go down to the river. We have fast, reliable internet available making it easy to stay up to date with work projects or stream your favorite shows. There are several fun wall mounted games in the home as well as a selection of board and card games for the whole family. There is an additional game area in the garage with an air hockey table, foosball table, skee-ball game, and second refrigerator for you to stock with extra beverages or use for extra food storage. Pets are welcome in our home with the payment of a one time pet fee. If you add your pet to the guest count when booking the fee will be automatically applied. This home is in a quiet neighborhood. Small gatherings are allowed, but large parties with open invitation are not permitted. We ask that you be respectful of our neighbors by keeping noise levels down in the evening, and being considerate with your parking choices.
Other Details to Note
This cabin is off of the main road in the upper valley and requires access via fairly steep dirt roads. A 4WD vehicle may be required in muddy or icy conditions. There are steps to get in the front door, and a spiral staircase to get between the 3 stories in the home. The yard and surrounding terrain are steep and rocky. The steps down to the river are steep and will require an able body to ascend/descend. The river can be flowing very quickly at times of the year. There is occasionally wildlife, including bears, in the area. Winter Advisory- this area of the mountain gets higher than average snowfall. A 4WD vehicle will likely be required for access during peak snowfall months. Some outdoor areas will likely be unavailable or very difficult to access in the winter.
